Audiological Aspects of Hybrid

Learning Outcomes:

The Hybrid system merges two well-established technologies - cochlear implants and hearing aids and is indicated for individuals with severe to profound high frequency hearing loss, who maintain low frequency hearing.

This one-day course will introduce the core knowledge areas required to practice as a Hybrid clinician. The format will be a mixture of presentations and practical sessions.

This course will provide information on:

  • Hybrid assessement, selection considerations and criteria
  • the complete Hybrid system product porfolio
  • programming a Hybrid recipient, practical tips and tricks
  • the parameters to consider when programming the Hybrid sound processor and the steps involved in initial and subsequent programming sessions
  • clinical performance and research overview
  • troubleshooting the external equipment

Experienced acousticians and audiologists who are new to Hybrid, who work in clinics that will start performing Hybrid surgery in the near future and have practical experience in the programming of Nucleus CI recipients.
