Learning Outcomes:
This 1-day course will focus on the wide range of Assistive Listening Devices (ALD) including FM systems and other accessories available for the Nucleus CI system. These accessories can greatly improve the quality of sound received through the CI helping with comprehension in difficult listening environments.
This course will provide information on:
· A structured overview of the existing ALDs and accessories for the range of Nucleus sound processors
· How these accessories can be used and which accessory suits which recipient’s needs
· FM systems setup and daily use troubleshooting with hands-on practice
· How to establish and control the FM benefit
· Programming the MLxS and MicroLink Freedom
· Experience the possibilities of ALDs by simulating different use scenarios
· How to counsel your recipients to use the accessories effectively
· FM system frequency allocation in a school
Who should attend:
Audiologists, teachers of the deaf, speech and language therapists, hearing therapists and CI professionals with experience or a good understanding of CI systems and who would like to learn or increase their knowledge about ALDs and FM systems and their applications.
