Electrophysiology Masterclass I - Foundation Course

23 September 2010

Learning Outcomes:

This one-day course will provide an overview of the features and benefits of the different electrophysiology measurements that can be used with cochlear implant candidates and recipients. The focus will be on the peripheral measurements ECAP (Electrical Compound Action Potential) and NRT™ (Neural Response Telemetry). This course will provide information on:

·         The current electrophysiological (EP) assessments adapted for a cochlear implant, eg ESRT(Electrical Stapedius Reflex Threshold), NRT, EABR (Electrically Evoked Auditory Brainstem Response), CEP (Cortical Evoked Potentials)

·         The various clinically useful applications of NRT, with practical tips on how to implement NRT in your service

·         How to perform NRT measurements during CI surgery, and in post-operative sessions with adults and children, with step-by-step instructions and practical excercises

The programme is designed to increase the confidence, competence and efficiency level of the course participant in electrophsysiology.

Who should attend: CI professionals with little/no prior experience in electrophysiology in general or NRT in particular, or infrequent users of NRT.
