This course will be given in collaboration with the University’s ENT Department, AZ St. Augustinus, Antwerp (Belgium) 

Learning Outcomes:This 2 ½ -day trainig will provide basic knowledge and skills required for CI surgery by means of a mixture of presentations and practical temporal bone sessions moderated by highly experienced European surgeons. The course will include a live surgery and offer all participants the possibility to practice drilling on real temporal bones, which is usually regarded as one of the highlights.  A question-and-answer session to deal with every aspect of the CI process is also part of the programme. 

This course will provide information on: 

·           Surgical technique: from incision to electrode insertion, to closing of the wound

·           CI assessment, selection considerations and criteria

·           The complete Nucleus CI system product portfolio

·           An overview of the different stages in the CI process  

Who should attend: ENT doctors who are new to Nucleus cochlear implants, who wish to learn more about CI surgery and get a better understanding of the entire CI process.
